Raw Trail Mix

Nuts are my favorite snack since they are so good for you and you don't have to eat a lot to feel satisfied. In the interest of time, I usually just eat this raw. But I have roasted it before with a little oil and salt or maple syrup and cinnamon and it is also delicious that way, and plus my boys will actually eat the nuts and not just eat the raisins out of it. Either way, it's a great, healthy snack.

Trail mix

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups of mixed nuts (any kind you like, I usually use combination of raw cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, or peanuts)
  • 1 cup of dried fruit (I use raisins or a mix of raisins and dried cranberries- look for the kind made with juice instead of sugar)
  • Salt (optional, omit if using salted nuts)

Instructions:
  1. Throw everything into a gallon ziploc bag and shake it up until well mixed. Store in the fridge to help it keep longer.
